Host a “Climate Solutions” Event

By Diana

Events are social as they bring people together with similar interests. They are a great way to help you build trust, support and memorable relationships with citizens and fellow leaders. Whether you host an informal meeting, fundraiser, seminar or workshop, events will sustain your momentum and make your commitment to climate solutions real.

You may consider organizing new events or weaving a climate solutions theme into the events you or your community already has on the calendar. Use well attended affairs, such as sporting events, to showcase recycling, composting and sustainable transportation accessibility. Make an effort to have a net zero waste event (where 90% or more of post-consumer materials are diverted from landfills). Holding an event is also a great way to launch and announce your Path to Positive commitment with Path to Positive Communities, and get your community inspired to engage.
