Hon. Timothy Ragland

Elected in 2019, Mayor Timothy Ragland is the first African American to be elected mayor of Talladega. Elected at age 29, he is also the youngest person ever to serve as mayor. His vision for his city of 15,000 is to enhance his city’s technology access, resolve ongoing city infrastructure issues, increase job opportunities for residents and implement measures to make the town’s schools better. He also seeks to increase his city's resilience in the face of the extreme weather and warming temperatures that Alabama is experiencing due to climate change.
