Laura Jay

Laura Jay serves as a Deputy Regional Director for North America & Head of the New York Office at C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. In this role, she works with C40’s 15 cities in the US and Canada to help advance climate actions, from policies to mitigate emissions to strategies for adapting to climate impacts. Previously, Laura managed the Land Use Planning Network at C40 where she ran a network of urban planners in C40 cities globally to support the development of land use plans and policies to address climate goals of creating more compact, connected and resilient cities. Prior to joining the C40, Laura served as a Project Manager at Terrapin Bright Green where she consulted to government agencies, developers and non-profits to create more sustainability policies and designs. She has also worked at the U.S. Green Building Council on the development of their strategic plan. Laura has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
