Path to Positive Communities seeks to recognize successful climate change and sustainability initiatives in cities, counties, and regions, including local governments. Through Let's Lead, we will recognize and broadly promote seven winning efforts in which actions to reduce climate impact and increase sustainability are complemented by successful efforts to engage the community on climate change. The purpose is to celebrate leadership and encourage other local areas to adopt these same successful models.
The Let’s Lead success stories will be selected through a submission process and have two primary components. They will: 1) include implemented sustainability initiatives and/or climate change impact reductions; and 2) feature successful efforts to engage constituents (colleagues, the community, etc.) in the program or climate solutions. If you believe your program meets this criteria, please fill out the submission form for consideration! Ideal applicants will:
- Include replicable, applicable, and practical sustainability or climate impact reduction initiatives
- Demonstrate successful engagement (communicating with, inviting participation, educating) of constituents in the program
- Feature diversity and inclusion. Efforts to assist, include and/or highlight vulnerable populations and those who are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change are encouraged.
Please follow the link below to submit your success story. We recommend answering the prompts in a separate document and pasting your responses when you are ready to submit. If you have any questions or comments, please contact our Research Coordinator, Paige Fery. The deadline for submissions is May 15th, 2017. Thank you!
